Visibility matters.

For our LGBTQIA faculty, staff, and students, knowing that there is a large number of community members and supporters can have a significantly positive impact on their experience at UC Santa Barbara.

Definitely not! There are many reasons why people might not be on this list. Maybe they did not know about it. Maybe they cannot be out for personal reasons. Maybe they cannot be out for professional reasons. It is so exciting to have so many people in the UCSB family come out as LGBTQ people or supporters of the LGBTQ community, and it is important to remember that this list does not encompass every LGBTQ student, faculty, staff, or alum, and supporter on campus.
