The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) at UC Santa Barbara organized a walk on campus in honor of World AIDS Day to raise awareness and show solidarity with people living with HIV and AIDS. The event aimed to shed light on the ongoing issue of HIV and AIDS and remember those who lost their lives during the AIDS crisis. Participants gathered outside the Student Resource Building, dressed in red attire, and marched through the campus, carrying red ribbons and pins. The event also included efforts to raise funds for AIDS Project Los Angeles and promote HIV testing. Organizers stressed the importance of reducing stigma around HIV and AIDS and educating the community about the virus and its impact.
