Simon Thibodeau, the head coach of the women's tennis team at the University of California, Santa Barbara, came out as gay to his team in a candid conversation. In doing so, he joins a short list of publicly out NCAA Division I head coaches in various sports. Thibodeau's decision is seen as a significant step forward in increasing LGBTQ+ visibility in college coaching.
