UC Santa Barbara's Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) organized a vigil on Nov. 19 to commemorate Transgender Day of Remembrance. The event aimed to honor the memory of transgender individuals who lost their lives to transphobic violence, featuring name readings, an in memoriam slideshow, altar construction, and counseling support from Counseling and Psychological Services. This event emphasized the ongoing need for awareness and support, particularly concerning the disproportionately high rates of violence experienced by transgender individuals of color.
