General Information
There are three entrances into the Student Resource Building
- Pardall tunnel side entrance
- Children’s center back entrance
- Bike loop front entrance
We have three all gender restrooms in the building that have accessible stalls
- On the first floor
- The restroom is located along the wall where the elevator is
- It is closest to the water bottle refill stations in the area with all the tables
- On the third floor
- Go to the elevator between the restrooms and the water bottle refill station
- Take the elevator up to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk heading toward the RCSGD
- Turn left and walk in the direction of the office of international students services
- Walk past the Office of International Student Services, at the end you will find two all gender restrooms
Coming from the Bus Loop
- At the bus loop, follow the bike path in the direction going toward the campus pool
- Follow this bike path past the Social Science and Media Studies building and until you get to the intersection
- At the intersection, cross the street and follow the sidewalk along the parking lot
- Follow the sidewalk around the back of the Thunderdome, then cross the bike path toward the parking structure
- Follow the sidewalk between the parking structure and the Thunderdome until you get to the bike crossing at the bike loop
- Cross the bike path and head toward the Student Resource Building (SRB) front door
- Once inside the SRB, go right, the elevator is located on the leftmost wall just past the restrooms
- Take the elevator to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk and take a right, that's where the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is found!

Coming from the “Chi 5” Area
- From your residence hall, head West toward the Multi-Cultural Center (MCC)
- Cross the street to get to the front of the MCC
- At the MCC, take the sidewalk along the bike path North toward Girvetz Hall.
- Cross the bike path to get to the footpath in front of Girvetz Hall.
- Head West on the footpath along the bike path headed toward Isla Vista and Pardall Tunnel.
- Cross to the other side of the bike path in front of the Performing Arts Theater to get to the footpath in front of Hatlen Theater and the Performing Arts Buildings
- Continue heading West toward Pardall Tunnel until you get to the Student Resource Building (SRB)
- Cross the bike path and head toward the SRB front door
- Once inside the SRB, go right, the elevator is located on the leftmost wall just past the restrooms
- Take the elevator to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk and take a right, that's where the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is found!

- One downhill slope and a slightly steeper uphill slope in front of theater and dance west
Coming from Manzanita Villages
- From your building, move north toward San Rafael apartments
- Keep moving along the curve in the road until you get to the bike path
- At the bike path go north along the guest house parking lot
- Cross the intersection and head toward the back entrance of the srb
- Once inside the srb, take a left and follow the leftmost wall past the restrooms until you get to the elevator
- Take the elevator to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk and take a right, that's where the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is found!

Coming from Santa Catalina Hall
If commuting from Santa Catalina residence hall, you are able to walk from there to campus but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you commute by bus where your access card gets you free transit to anywhere you might need to go. Most bus stops are fully ADA compliant, especially those on this listBuses pass by approximately every 20 minutes. You should be able to get to campus in 15 to twenty minutes so please plan accordingly!
The first step for all bus routes would be to cross the street in front of Portola Dining Commons to get to the bus stop in front of the nature preserve and closest to the apartments.
These are some recommended bus routes:
Taking the Number 28 (or the Number 11) Bus
- Get on the number 28/11 bus from El Colegio Rd. and Camino Corto
- Stay on this bus for approximately 3 stops until you get to El Colegio Rd. and Stadium
- Head straight down El Colegio Rd. past the Student Health Building until you get to the intersection
- At the intersection, cross the street to get to the parking lot near the thunderdome.
- Take the sidewalk path headed toward the HSSB until it forks to go into the parking lot, then go in that direction.
- Follow the sidewalk moving right to get around the thunderdome.
- Follow the sidewalk between the parking structure and the thunderdome until you get to the bike crossing at the bike loop
- Cross the bike path and head toward the Student Resource Building (SRB) front door
- Once inside the SRB, go right, the elevator is located on the leftmost wall just past the restrooms
- Take the elevator to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk and take a right, that's where the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is found!

Taking the Number 27 Bus
- Get on the number 27 bus from el colegio and camino corto
- Stay on the bus from approximately 5 stops until you reach Ocean and Sabado tarde
- From this stop, follow the sidewalk in front of san rafael apartment towers to get to the parking lot
- Stay on the sidewalk following the bike path in front of guest housing
- Cross the intersection and follow the sidewalk cutting through the garden to get to the SRB’s Children’s Center Back Entrance (this entrance has double doors and is directly next to our american indian resource center)
- Once inside the srb, take a left and follow the leftmost wall past the restrooms until you get to the elevator
- Take the elevator to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk and take a right, that's where the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is found!

Coming from IV
- Coming from IV Theater or Embarcadero Hall, go north toward Starbucks
- On Pardall Rd, cross the street toward Dublin’s Sports Grill
- Follow that street down toward and through the tunnel
- Once past the tunnel, go down to the bike crossing
- Cross the bike path and head toward the Pardall tunnel side entrance of the SRB
- Once inside the SRB, go along the rightmost wall past the all gender restrooms and printer until you get to the elevator
- Take the elevator to the third floor
- Cross the catwalk and take a right, that's where the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is found!

Additional Notes
All Gender Restrooms
As previously stated, there are two all gender restrooms located on the 3rd floor of the student resource building that are wheelchair accessible and equipped with handlebars. There is also an all gender restroom located on the first floor of the Student Resource Building with grip bars and a changing table.

Bathrooms
There are no bathrooms located within the RCSGD, however there are two all gender restrooms located on the 3rd floor of the student resource building that are wheelchair accessible and equipped with grip bars.
Drugs/Alcohol
No alcohol, drugs, or related paraphernalia are allowed within the center space as per UCSB policy.
Lighting
The RCSGD receives a lot of natural light from our wall of windows and in addition, has soft tubular lighting across our center. If adjustments, for light sensitivity needs to be made please notify our office assistants.
Service Animals
As per University policy, the care, supervision, and well-being of a Service or Support Animal are the sole responsibility of the Handler at all times. All Handlers who utilize Service or Support Animals on University Propertyare subject to all provisions of County of Santa Barbara Ordinance, Chapter 7: Animals and Fowl. Service and Support Animal Handlers are responsible for damage caused by their animals, removing or arranging for the removal of animal waste, and ensuring that Service and Support Animals are under control at all times. When on University Property, Service and Support Animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered.
Sound/Noise
During events, the space may have amplified sound however during our normal hours, we ask that folks be respectful of their noise levels within the space for individuals who may be sensitive to sound. In addition, we offer quiet/study hours throughout the quarter, please see our community hours for more details. If folks have a need for an ASL interpreter, please contact the Disabled Students Program located on the second floor of the Student Resource Building.
Ventilation/Smoking Area
The RCSGD is well-ventilated with large windows and ceiling fans within the center. In addition, we would like to remind everyone that UCSB is a smoke-free campus.
