The "Intervening as an Ally" project at UC Santa Barbara aims to reduce hate crimes and incidents on the campus and in the adjacent community of Isla Vista. Student peer interns will lead active bystander intervention workshops for the LGBTQ community and its allies to address issues of violence, homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism. The project, developed by Eucalyptus, seeks to create a safer and more inclusive environment at UCSB and Isla Vista by educating students on recognizing and intervening in hate crimes and incidents.
