Support for LGBTQIA+ Student Organizations

Whether you are thinking of starting an LGBTQIA+ group or are an established student organizations looking for support on your work, the RCSGD is happy to help! You are welcome to schedule time with us to learn about previous and current organizations, resources available to organizations across campus, and how the RCSGD can help. We love collaborating with our student groups as well, our work comes from different sides of student life but heads towards the same goal of creating more welcoming spaces for our community members.

Lounge Reservation for Student Organizations

To reserve the RCSGD lounge for your QT related event/meeting please fill out the RCSGD Lounge Reservation Request.

Reservations requests are for after center hours.

Queer Trans Leadership Council (QTLC)

The Queer Trans Leadership Council is a group made up of the RCSGD Program Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, and representatives from active LGBTQIA+ student Organizations.

It's purpose is to inform organizations on RCSGD resources, share updates on their own organization's work, and find helpful collaborations between organizations.

  • La Familia de Colores is a LGBTQ organization that actively seeks to create a safe space and gain awareness in the Latin@/Chican@ community at UCSB. Our objective is to fill the gap and intersect the two communities.

Queer and Trans Community (QTC)

Queer and Trans Community (QTC)

  • A group of students who share a common interest in cultivating, nurturing, and enriching the queer experience at UCSB. We are advocates for queer/trans perspectives and we work to ensure that the presence and voices of queer students are recognized and respected by college administration, the student body, and the larger Santa Barbara/Goleta community. Through our active presence and involvement on campus, QTC hopes to confront phobias and heteronormativity while seeking to strengthen the bonds within our community.

Out in Stem (OSTEM)

  • oSTEM (out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is an organization at UCSB and a chapter of oSTEM Incorporated, the national non-profit organization. We aim to promote and support LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) individuals and their allies in their pursuit of STEM fields.

S.A.S.S. (Society for Accessible and Safe Spaces)

  • Society for Accessible and Safe Spaces is a transgender, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming support group as well as an advocacy organization aimed at addressing access and safety on campus-owned property. We strive to institute change and incite a discourse that treats economic, racial, and gender issues as inseparable.

Undocuqueer and Undocutrans Support Group

  • Our mission is to support students who may identify within the intersections of being undocumented and LGBTQ+ here at UCSB and the greater community. This support group was created as a response to the historical and systematic lack of support, resources, and advocacy on campus that satisfied the needs of undocumented, queer and trans people of color.
