Trans & Queer Commission

Description: Trans & Queer Commission is a formal group under UCSB Associated Students that provides funding and advocates for trans & queer students and their communities on campus and beyond. In particular, their QTPOC Engagement Coordinator is dedicated to QTPOC (and by extension QTAPID) identified students and their engagement, as well as empowerment. 

They believe that education, representation, and community work can combat oppression and lead to the safety and comfort of all people. Asian American Christian Fellowship

Description: Established at UCSB in 1987, AACF UCSB has been reaching out to the campus with the gospel for more than 29 years. Since its birth, AACF UCSB has invested in the lives of over 800 students, growing Christ followers and developing more than 200 student leaders passionate about loving God and loving others. Our alumni continue to be leaders making an impact for God on the campus as volunteer or paid campus ministers, in the local church as pastors or ministry leaders, in the work place as managers, teachers, health care professionals, etc., and in the world as career missionaries.

Chi Delta Theta

Description: Chi Delta Theta Sorority is an Asian-American interest sorority that was established on October 13, 1989 at the University of California at Santa Barbara by founding mothers Miss Alison Suto-Stripling and Miss Joanne Yamaoka Kato. Over the past twenty nine years, Chi Delta Theta has expanded to include six other chapters and over 100 active sisters all across California.

Dhadkan

Description: Dhadkan is a 501(c)(3) organization and community-driven think tank where leaders combine learned skills, energy, and passion for Indian culture to create a positive environment for minorities on campus, foster collaboration within surrounding communities, and empower underprivileged sectors across the world. Every year, aside from other philanthropic efforts, Dhadkan puts on Nachle Deewane, a spectacular Bollywood show whose proceeds go to a partnered charitable organization.

Go Club*

Description: Compete with other GO players to improve your spatial awareness and reasoning skills, all the while having plenty of fun and connecting to a game rooted in history and culture! Players of all skill levels are welcome, and meetings usually take place in the Asian Resource Center at the ARC

Hong Kong Student Association*

Description: Founded in 2005, HKSA is a socially oriented student club that is open to all UCSB students who are interested in Hong Kong culture. The club has a mission to promote Hong Kong culture by creating events and promoting activities that exhibit Hong Kong life.Although people from Hong Kong are considered to be minorities within the minority at UCSB, HKSA has always been considered as one of the major Asian clubs on campus that is always here, opening our doors to anyone who is interested in joining.

Iaorana Te Otea

Description: Iaorana Te Otea (which is Tahitian for "greetings from the drum beats") was founded in 1990 by a group of UCSB students. Since then, they have celebrated the dynamic cultures of the Polynesian islands. The club is multicultural and diverse with members from several different backgrounds and varying in experience. They welcome those who share a vested interest in learning about the Polynesian culture. Their purpose is to educate our community and ourselves, provide insight to those who are unfamiliar with Polynesian culture, and most of all, enjoy their music and dance.

International Student Association

Description: The International Students Association (ISA) is a registered student organization at UCSB. The main aim of ISA is to provide International students with the opportunity to experience and appreciate different cultures and promote international friendship. They encourage everyone, including American students interested in world culture to join. They organize a number of cultural, social, and recreational events that give students the opportunity to interact with a variety of cultures further enriching their college experience. The events include foreign movie nights, dance nights, beach volleyball, soccer, barbecues, and more. They also organize a number of trips such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, Yosemite National Park, and wine tasting trips.

Japanese Language Cafe

Description: JLC is for anyone who'd like to practice their Japanese or English language skills and meet people who share an interest in the Japanese language and culture! Japanese Student Association

Description: Japanese Student Association at UCSB is a registered campus organization aimed to raise greater awareness and appreciation of Japanese culture and language through events and activities, as well as provide opportunities for professional exploration through career seminars. RaaSBindaas at UCSB (Raas at UCSB)

Description: UCSB raaSBindaas is a co-ed dance team. Raas is a South Asian cultural dance form that originates from Gujarat, India. Raas strives to combine the styles of traditional Raas and Garba and aims to expose Santa Barbara to the beautiful traditions and culture of Gujarat while keeping it modern and creating a great experience for the team. Ravaani

Description: Ravaani is UCSB's only South Asian A Capella Team. This close-knit team performs original mash-ups of English songs with Indian songs of various languages, embracing the diverse musical and ethnic backgrounds of its members. Ravaani's goal is to revel in the music, bring a family atmosphere to the team, and to make the a capella experience fun, honest, and raw. The team's name means 'flow' or 'tide', inspired by our seaside campus. No prior experience is needed to audition for the team, just musical talent, and passion for singing and teamwork!

Seoul'd Out

Description: Korean pop (K-Pop) music is a fast-growing movement whose influence is currently expanding beyond South Korea. Formerly a niche interest that catered to a specific fan demographic, K-Pop is quickly becoming a worldwide phenomenon. This export of Korean culture and entertainment is also known as the Hallyu Wave. As the second collegiate Hallyu organization in the United States, Seoul’d Out strives to be an exemplary community that offers members a safe, intellectually stimulating environment to discuss, critique, and participate in K-Pop fandom. Seoul’d Out will bring together the K-Pop community of Santa Barbara by offering fun and casual meetings that also serve as opportunities to make meaningful connections to K-Pop fans throughout the world.

Sigma Kappa Chi

Description: Sigma Kappa Chi Sorority Inc. at the University of California, Santa Barbara is a single chapter sorority that was established on October 12, 1993 as an Asian-American Interest Sorority built upon sisterhood, respect, and everlasting friendship. The founding mothers of Sigma Kappa Chi established this sorority with the intent to provide sisterhood, cultural awareness in the community, and the pursuit of academic excellence. Southeast Asian Union

Description: The purpose of this organization is to promote cultural awareness of the Southeast Asian community and to provide a safe and open space for students to express themselves in. Their main goal is to host an overnight youth conference for underprivileged high school students in California.
