Discrimination

Inequitable actions carried out by members of a dominant group or its representatives against members of a marginalized or minoritized group. It is harming someone’s rights because of who they are or what they believe. Discrimination is inherently harmful and promotes inequity. Discrimination may be direct (explicit) or indirect (not explicit, but disproportionately disadvantages a specific group (s). All individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, ability, etc., deserve to be treated equally and not face discrimination.
